Claims/specs: This boot is designed to be the striker's ultimate weapon. The kangra-lite synthetic leather upper offers a snug fit and an enhanced touch. The adaptive shield offers pin-point accuracy as well as an incredible spin on the ball. It's also amplifies flexibility. The small raised TPU fins, once again, ensure more swerve. The Poron insert limits stud pressure and the extraordinary stud traction combines with a more flexible forefoot to enhance agility.
Comfort: Previous laser models offered a very wide fit which was very unpopular among most players. I can definitely say that the laser IVs fit a lot more snug than the past lasers. In fact, I can honestly say that this is one of the best fits I have ever experienced in any boot. The biggest difference in the laser IV is the much more narrow toe box. The lacing system and tongue are very similar to that of the laser III. The Kanga-lite upper is extremely soft right out of the box. The break-in period is short and satisfying. The sole plate is a lot more flexible than previous lasers and dries more quickly when it gets wet. The overall fit and feel of this boot is absolutely overwhelming. I have never experienced a boot quite like these ever before. I have always described them as a reenforced sock with a sole plate.
They fit true to size, so I recommend buying your normal size if you are interested in purchasing these boots.
Weight: The shoe weighs in at around 9.8 oz, which is a little less than what the laser III weighed. This is due to the fact that Nike has trimmed down and taken away some of the shoes elements. The soleplate is thinner and the rubber shooting element is a lot less bulky then what it used to be. It is an overall average and respectable weight and feels perfect for this type of boot.
Durability: I have experienced slight durability problems, but nothing to be totally worried about. For example, there has been minor separation at the toe box of each boot. This could become a major problem in the future, but for now I have no worries and I am confident that this boots will last for an exceptionally long time. I have also had some problems regarding the soleplate. The soleplate itself scuffs abnormally easy and way too much. Although it is easy to clean, it is definitely still a problem. Also the studs have been worn down quite a bit, but this is pretty much expected from all boots after a while. With that said, the boot is going to offer pretty good durability. The Kanga-lite upper will not stretch and requires little maintenance. It will also not wear out as quickly as a natural leather boot will. You can safely wear them on any surface and will get at least an entire season out of them.
Performance: In my opinion, the laser IVs are a huge step up in the T90 series. It offers an improved fit and a great feel. The shooting element gives you pin-point accuracy and a great swerve. The adaptive shield and the Microfins are a lot more effective than the 5 pod element Found on past lasers. They are also a perfect weight for this particular type of boot. In conclusion, they are simply amazing.
Value: The Laser IVs retail at $220, but you can get them for around $188 from most retailers. This is a pretty average price for most high-end boots on the market, but they are 100% worth the money. You will not be disappointed.
