Cristiano Ronaldo Wears Vapor 7 Soleplate on Vapor 8

Ronaldo was spotted sporting the Vapor 7 soleplate on his Vapor 8. This is very similar to what Pedro did in the Euro 2012 tournament.

Ronaldo seems to prefer the Vapor 7 soleplate over the Vapor 8. A lot of players have opted out of the two-stud heel of the Vapor 8 and either wear the SG-Pro or the Vapor 7 soleplate.

It comes at a surprise that the silo's main ambassador would make a move to the previous boots soleplate. Ronaldo usually plays in the SG-Pro soleplate.

As you can see, the boot features the typical four heel studs, along with the same Vapor 7 layout along the front of the boot.

The two heel stud configuration on the Vapor 8 was heavily criticized and was found to be defective on turf surfaces.

 

Will Nike change the Vapor 8 stud configuration with the Vapor 9? Only time will tell..
