When I took my new cleats out of the box and tried them on they felt different than what I was used to wearing. I wasn't used to a monolayer microfiber upper since I have always been using a Tejiin Microfiber or Kangaroo Leather Nike boot. The upper did seem like it would be preety durable though (which I will focus on in my first impressions article). But the thing that must struck me about the upper was the design. The beautiful White/Limoges/Ribbon Red colorway that was the main Euro colorway for all 3 of Puma's boots was quite striking. I loved the design down each side which reminded me of a lightning bolt for some reason.
Another thing that I really liked about this boot was the Heel Counter on the back. I could tell lots of people who wanted a durable and comfortable boot would fall for these due to the heel counter providing extra support. The last thing I loved with the upper but mainly the whole boot was how light they were! Though when I played around for a good two hours in these boots they were not very comfortable but I will mention that more in my First Impressions Article.
Finally the last thing I took a look at after pulling these things out of the box was the stud config. Like what I mentioned in my Unboxing Video (check that out over on YouTube when you get a chance), I really liked that this boot had four studs on the back. When I tested the Vapor 8 a few months ago, I had trouble with the two stud config. (But not so much trouble as to what I went through with the thin suede finish on the upper) But I heard a lot about how Nike fixed the problems with the Vapor 8 with the Euro Edition by putting on a Leather Finish. Hopefully I will get to test the next colorway of the Vapor 8 (with most likely a leather finish) to see how they differ from the older launch colorway.
