After a lot of rumors, the official launch of the Nike CTR360 Maestri III has come! The Maestri III continues Nike's control boot series.
The Maestri III has always been labeled as the "play makers" boot, being sported by the likes of Andres Iniesta and Mario Balotelli. The boot is aimed at enhancing players control with the ball, and enhancing dribbling and passing.
Initially launched in 2009, the CTR360 range has seen vast changes and innovations. The biggest changes have occurred on the third model, almost re-inventing the boot.
The boot features the standard Kanga-Lite upper that has become a regular occurrence for most Nike releases. This upper combines the comfort of Kangaroo leather with the lightweight of synthetics. The Kanga-Lite is implemented to ensure durability as well.
The biggest, most noteworthy enhancement to the Maestri III is the "ACC technology". This stands for "All Conditions Control". This technology is making it's official debut on the Maestri III. This is an enhancement implemented into the upper to make it suitable for all conditions. The surface texture on the boot is meant to enhance touch and control in all conditions; rain, heat, whatever is thrown at the player. This ensures that no matter what conditions you play in, the owner of the Maestri III can expect their boots to perform to their full potential.
Another large change that has been implemented for this boot is the pass pad's re-invention. Formally named the "3D Control Pad", this zone is lined with raised fins (T90 Laser III?) to help ensure optimal control and precise passing. The fins differ in size to accommodate different sections of the forefoot.
The dimples on the upper also increase friction between the ball and the foot, helping maximize control and first touch.
The CTR360 Maestri III continues to feature the 360 stud layout on the soleplate, which is vital for all midfield players. This stud layout helps players turn and respond faster, something that is absolutely vital for any mid-field player. The studs seem to be more of a Tiempo-like design, rather than the standard bladed studs. The new boot will also release in the SG-Pro version.
The boot is going to retail for $190 dollars, with the SG-Pro costing $210 dollars.
